University of Findlay College Credit Plus Program Receives Accreditation
The University of Findlay’s College Credit Plus (CCP) Program has recently received accreditation from the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Accreditation Commission. University of Findlay is one of 25 concurrent enrollment programs granted accreditation this year, which brings the total number of NACEP accredited programs across the country to 134 in only 26 states.
“We are extremely honored to be recognized for this achievement,” said Rebecca Hillman, assistant director of admissions for College Credit Plus. “By being one of only two programs in Ohio accredited through NACEP, we are able to highlight the wonderful opportunities the College Credit Plus Program at UF provides to students.”
NACEP currently serves as the nation’s only accrediting body for concurrent enrollment programs. As such, NACEP states their “standards serve as the model criteria for ensuring parity in faculty, course content, student outcomes and support.” Receiving NACEP accreditation means an institution has met the nation’s most rigorous standard in concurrent enrollment program development, management, and evaluation across multiple, multifaceted program areas.
NACEP states that to earn accreditation, concurrent enrollment programs must conduct a self-study, document how their programs adhere to standards, and undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by a team of representatives from NACEP accredited programs as well as the NACEP Accreditation Commission. “NACEP accreditation allows students to know that they are receiving a quality and challenging experience that will prepare them for a smooth transition as full-time college students after high school,” Hillman noted.
Findlay’s CCP Program provides high school students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school. This allows students to explore more academic paths, can help them receive a college degree earlier, and ultimately saves them time and money in their pursuit of higher education. University of Findlay provides more CCP Program opportunities than any other private higher education institution in the state with nearly 40 partner schools.
