Virtual Retreat to Inspire Confident Leadership
University of Findlay’s College of Business will host a virtual Inspiring Confident Leadership in Young Women Retreat June 16-18 for high school girls in their junior or senior year.
Cost of attendance for the virtual retreat is $25 and registration is limited to 50 students. Students must register by Friday, May 28 and will be informed of the acceptance decision by June 1.
“The goal of this retreat is to educate high school juniors and seniors on how to conduct themselves professionally in a business environment and enhance their leadership skills,” Kirby Overton, Ed.D., dean of the college of business. “We aim to empower these young women and help them to explore their leadership styles while building confidence in their leadership and professional skills.”
During the retreat, students will attend information sessions and workshops to develop professional business skills, partake in a mock interview, and network. Overton explained “they will be exposed to college professors, students, and industry professionals whose goal is to empower women within and outside of the workplace.”
Keynote speakers Julie Cordonnier, national accounts manager at Marathon Petroleum Corporation, and Mary Wineberg, Olympic gold medalist, author, and CEO of Secure Your Gold will also address students to provide valuable insight on the importance of being a leader and personal branding.
