Hazardous Materials Training Grant awarded to the University of Findlay’s All Hazard Training Center
University of Findlay’s All Hazards Training Center is one of ten entities to receive funding from the Hazardous Materials Training Grant program provided by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO).
According to the PUCO website, grants are awarded, “for the training of public safety and emergency services personnel in the proper techniques for the management of hazardous materials spills and releases that occur during transportation.”
In the last 24 years, Findlay All Hazards has trained over 11,000 volunteer responders at over 450 different locations across the state of Ohio through this grant.
This training includes the various levels of Emergency Response and is designed to help volunteer responders across the state of Ohio safely respond to hazardous material releases in their jurisdictions and is free of charge for any volunteer fire departments located within the state.
