Jeff Sailer, the Toledo Zoo’s executive director, will be the next presenter for the University of Findlay’s Fridays at Findlay executive speaker series to be held May 13 from 7:30-9 a.m. at Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
The cost is $10 per person and includes breakfast. Registration and payment by credit card can be completed online at www.findlay.edu/FridaysAtFindlay or by contacting Cynthia Lahey, executive administrative assistant to the vice president for University Advancement at (419) 434-5334 or at lahey@findlay.edu.
Under Sailer’s innovative leadership and emphasis on guest experience, the Toledo Zoo’s attendance has shown marked growth and the historic aquarium was completely renovated. USAToday has named it the No. 1 zoo in the United States and Family Fun magazine has named it the second best in the nation.
Prior to being named as the zoo’s executive director in 2012, Sailer was the director of city zoos and facility director for Central Park Zoo in New York City. He also served in several other capacities during his six-year tenure at that institution.
He has also been curator of birds at the Miami Metrozoo. As part of his avian research, Sailer participated in several expeditions to Papua New Guinea and the Kingdom of Tonga.
Sailer is a member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and has served on a number of advisory groups and committees.
Fridays at Findlay provides opportunities to hear from a variety of organizational leaders about superior leadership practices.
