UF Welcomes ’24 Donnell Broadway Concert Series Guest Artist Matt Doyle
University of Findlay will host its biannual Donnell Broadway Concert Series on Sunday, January 28. Taking the stage is Tony Award-winning Broadway star, Matt Doyle. Joining Doyle will be Grammy Award-nominated Broadway conductor Phil Reno.
Doyle made his Broadway debut in 2007 when he served as a replacement in “Spring Awakening.” He later found himself on stage for “Bye Bye Birdie,” “War Horse,” and “The Book of Mormon.” Following a period of Off-Broadway performances, Doyle took the role of Jaime in “Company,” resulting in a 2022 Tony Award for “Best Featured Actor in a Musical.”
His Off-Broadway appearances include appearances on “Gossip Girl,” Alan Brown’s “Romeo and Juliet, Private Romeo,” and a small singing role in the film “Once More with Feeling.” Doyle also starred in numerous regional productions including “Sweeney Todd,” “West Side Story,” “Deadland,” and “A Clockwork Orange.”
The concert will be held on the University of Findlay campus in Winebrenner’s TLB Auditorium. Tickets are $30 for adults, $27 for senior citizens, $10 for non-UF students, and free to UF students, faculty, and staff (with a valid University ID). Tickets can be purchased at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts (MCPA) box office at 200 W. Main Cross St. Tickets can also be purchased online at MCPA’s website.
Thomas ’70 and Kathleen Donnell established the Thomas and Kathleen Donnell Broadway Concert Series Endowment Fund in conjunction with the University of Findlay’s Give Voice to Your Values campaign. Each year, Tony Award-winning artists and other masters of theater are welcomed to the stage.
