Nathan Tice Named Chair of UF Department of Physical Sciences
Nathan Tice, Ph.D., chair of physical sciences and associate professor of chemistry, has recently been named Chair of University of Findlay’s Department of Physical Sciences.
Tice started at University of Findlay as an adjunct professor of chemistry in 2014 and became a full-time professor in the fall of 2015.
In regard to his new position as chair, Tice mentioned, “I’m excited for the challenge, trying something new, and looking forward to getting some administrative experience.”
In this new role, Tice has hopes of expanding the offerings of UF’s Department of Physical Sciences. “I’m looking forward to bettering the department and helping it to grow,” stated Tice. “Over the years, we’ve made a lot of progress, but I think we’ve got some things we can do to grow our influence campus-wide and beyond.”
Tice is pleased to be in this new role and is looking forward to figuring out how chemistry and physics can work with other programs across campus. “If there’s any way that we can collaborate with other departments or majors, I’d like to emphasize on that,” he said.
