Intergalactic Summer STEAM Camp at Mazza Museum offered to local students
Area students in grades 5 to 8 who want to “prepare for liftoff” are invited to participate in the University of Findlay’s Mazza Museum Summer STEAM Camp, featuring a theme of “Intergalactic Problem Solvers.”
The camp, which runs June 8 to 12 in cooperation with the Imagination Station of Toledo, encourages students to solve cosmic challenges and explore the science behind the universe.
“Students will work in teams to tackle ‘galactic hazards,’ experimenting with materials, and refining their designs,” explained Kristine Habelmann, education manager at the Mazza Museum. “Along the way, they blend storytelling with science, creativity with logic, and curiosity with courage.”
“This is not a sit-and-listen experience. It is a build, test, redesign, collaborate, and imagine experience,” she added.
The camp takes place on the University’s campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 8 to 12. Cost of registration is $200 per child and includes instruction, all required materials, and a STEAM Camp T-shirt.
“Mazza’s Summer STEAM Camp invites students to think boldly, experiment bravely, and discover that the universe – and their potential – is far bigger than they imagined,” Habelmann said.
To register, visit the Mazza Museum’s Events page online at www.mazzamuseum.org/events/. For questions regarding the camp, including scholarships to help with the cost, contact Habelmann at 419-434-4689 or send an email to Kristine.Habelmann@findlay.edu.
